World's largest service Reservoirs
World's largest service Reservoirs
(OP)
We have a client in the ME who want's to build the World's largest potable water service reservoirs; each 100 million gallon capacity. He want's to know what are the largest service reservoirs built anywhere in the world to date ?

RE: World's largest service Reservoirs
But a drawback to very large reservoirs is that it's hard to take them out of service. Drawing down the water and adjusting operations is a problem. Plus the water can get nasty as it ages. Sometimes a series of smaller reservoirs is better.
If you need to know where there are large reservoirs, check the water systems for large cities.
RE: World's largest service Reservoirs
Presently practically all of the potable water supply is from desalination plants on the Gulf. The present regional paranoia is that Iran could knock out the GCC states with a few crop dusters spraying a cocktail of radioactive chemicals in a few strategic locations of desal plant intakes. If that doesn't work a dozen or so well aimed missies would paralyse the ME.
GCC states are looking to provide security of supply. out client is considering constructing 20 to 30 100 million tanks. But he does not want new technology, he wants to know if any tanks of this capacity have ever been constructed before. Biggest we can find is 35 million gallon. (Imperial gallon)

The Honor Oak Service Reservoir in London was the largest ever brick-lined underground reservoir and remained the largest in Europe holding 56.5 million imperial gallons.
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has 2 - 60 million imperial gallons concrete underground tanks under construction as the first two phases of the Al Ghafat reservoirs.
The Al Ghafat contract is worth a total value of 77.5m USD and is scheduled for completion in 2014.
The overall project involves five water service reservoirs with capacities of 60 million imperial gallons each; three reservoirs are at the sites of the existing reservoir complex at Mushrif and two reservoirs are at Al Ghafat in the Emirate of Dubai.
The existing reservoir complex at Mushrif has three existing reservoirs, each with a capacity of 60 million imperial gallons. In the current project, an additional three reservoirs will be constructed. The reservoirs are rectangular reinforced concrete structures, each with four compartments.

turnover each week. Might want to think about chloramination rather than super/de.
