SCRIBING (LINES) WILL NOT SHOW UP IN VIEWS WHEN I MAKE A DRAWING

SCRIBING (LINES) WILL NOT SHOW UP IN VIEWS WHEN I MAKE A DRAWING

SCRIBING (LINES) WILL NOT SHOW UP IN VIEWS WHEN I MAKE A DRAWING

(OP)
IM TRYING TO HAVE PART NUMBERS IN MY VIEWS
ON MY DRAWING, THEY ARE THERE WHEM IM IN MODELING
BUT WILL NOT SHOW UP IN MY VIEWS IN DRAFTING

HIDDEN LINES ARE DASHED SO I SHOULD SEE THEM
JUST NOT THERE?

RE: SCRIBING (LINES) WILL NOT SHOW UP IN VIEWS WHEN I MAKE A DRAWING

Notes (annotations) added in modeling are created as view dependent. If the top view is your work view in modeling, the note will only show up in the top view added in drafting. There are a few options for getting notes in all views.
  • convert the notes you added to be view independent
  • add notes with the text function in modeling (Insert -> Curve -> Text...)
  • add notes with the PMI module

RE: SCRIBING (LINES) WILL NOT SHOW UP IN VIEWS WHEN I MAKE A DRAWING

(OP)
IM NOT SURE THAT WORKED

fIRST I DONT KNOW WHAT VIEW (IN MODELING) THE SCRIBES WERE CREATED IN

SO IN DRAFTING I MADE EVERY VIEW THERE WAS AND IT DIDNT SHOW ANY SCRIBES.

SECOND WHEN I GO TO VIEW DEPENDENT EDIT
IT WILL NOT LET ME SELECT SOME OF THE SCRIBES TO CONVERT FROM MODEL TO VIEW.

SOME OF THE SCRIBES DO SHOW UP I SHOULD SAY

BASICALLY THEY ARE POLYLINES FROM A CGM FILE.

DATE WHEELS, COMPANY LOGO, RECYLCE CODE, THAT I USE
ON ALL MY MOLDS/PARTS.

I ALSO NOTICE IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I CREATE MY DWG FIRST THEN TRY TO PUT SCRIBES IN MODELING.

IF I REMEMBER TO PUT SCRIBES (TEXT) ON THE MODEL THEN CREATE A DWG IT SHOWS UP IN ALL DRAFTING VIEWS.

RE: SCRIBING (LINES) WILL NOT SHOW UP IN VIEWS WHEN I MAKE A DRAWING

Go to your Drawing (assembly) and change the Reference Set of the Component from 'Model' to 'Entire Part'.  Does your additional objects (lines, logos, text, etc.) show up?  Does more than what you want show up?  If so, go back to your original Part Model and go to...

Format -> Reference Sets...

...and add the desired line, logos, text, etc. to the 'Model' Reference Set.  Now go back to your Drawing (assembly) file and switch the Component Reference Set back to 'Model' and see if this is now what you expected.

Note that my reply assumes that you are working in the Master Model mode.  If you're not, you should be!

And please, stop yelling.

Technically, the glass is always  full.

You'll actually want to convert them from view to model. Perhaps you cannot select them because they are already view dependent. Go into drafting turn off the display of the drawing sheet, do a view dependent edit on the note (view to model).

OK, A BIG DUHHH OVER HERE

I WAS CONVERTING MODEL TO VIEW  IN VIEW DEPENDENT EDIT
I USED VIEW TO MODEL AND IT WORKED (SHOWED UP IN MY VIEWS)

I ALSO FORGOT TO REORDER MY REFERENCE SETS. (THANKS JOHN)
