NX 7.5 define geometric tolerance with extension lines

NX 7.5 define geometric tolerance with extension lines

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to use extension lines with a geometric tolerance definition in NX on its own without attaching it to a dimension? Thank you.

Regards,
Raymond

RE: NX 7.5 define geometric tolerance with extension lines

Do you mean like this:

John R. Baker, P.E.
Product 'Evangelist'
Product Engineering Software
Siemens PLM Software Inc.
Industry Sector
Cypress, CA
http://www.siemens.com/plm
UG/NX Museum:   http://www.plmworld.org/p/cm/ld/fid=209

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

In the Leader pull-down choose "Flag" instead of "Plain"
The same thing applies when you use the "finish symbol" menu.

Showing it without the size dimension is a bit tricky - and not really to standard, so that's why it's not supported in NX.

Your system admin is probably blocking images sourced from 'Photobucket', the archive service I use for image and video files.  I've known some other companies which have done this as well, why I don't really know.  I've used 'Photobucket' for years (I actually have two accounts, one for work and one for personal so that they never get mixed up or cross referenced) and have never had any problems or been accused of linking inappropriate material.  Siemens allows access and they can be pretty draconian at times in what they consider as being 'appropriate content' or not.

Jerry: I see, so it's not supported in NX.

John: I tried accessing it at home and I can see it. As indicated in the picture that I posted I need something with two extension lines. Jerry already said that it is not supported in NX.

Thank you both for helping.
