Pressure Sensing Device

Pressure Sensing Device

(OP)
I need to run an electric DC motor, by sensing the pressure at a hydraulic pipeline(lesser the pressure more the speed of the DC motor).
What pressure sensor should I use. Someone suggested a piezoelectric pressure sensor, but will it work properly with the hydraulic pipeline, which would have highly varying pressure.
Where can I find more about piezoelectric pressure sensors, their specifications and different types.
Or any other sensor that I could use with hydraulic pipeline

RE: Pressure Sensing Device

A good source is BD Sensors (www.bdsensors.com). They have electronic pressure switches with 4-20 mA output to control the speed of your motor in dependence upon the pressure in the pipeline. They work well with hydraulic fluids and variable pressures.

RE: Pressure Sensing Device

Just to throw another unit out there try www.noshok.com.  We have had good luck with these units and there price is very competative.  For applications where you can afford better.  foxboro or Emerson make better high end units.
