Visualization of a cylinder error
Visualization of a cylinder error
(OP)
I'm having some problems with the visualization of any kind of cylinder in NX 7.5.
Everytime I visualize a cylinder it comes without the top and bottom faces. There's a word document with a print screen.
Does anyone know what's going on and how to solve it?
Thanks.

If that doesn't fix it, the next thing to check is your video card model and driver version - are they certified by Siemens for use with NX? Sometimes the newest graphics driver isn't best for NX and display problems show up.

I really don't know what worked, but in the end, it's perfect once again.
RE: Visualization of a cylinder error
Rather than dropping in your component, then constraining it; have you tried out the 'by constraints' placement option (available in the 'add component' dialog)? It is pretty slick, you get a secondary independent viewport for your component. You can activate the component viewport to rotate/pan/zoom your component to select a constraint reference, then activate the main viewport to select your second reference. Repeat until all your constraints are defined and when you press OK, it places your component according to your defined constraints.

The image I posted was just an example of a cylinder, nothing more than that.

That is the method I use also. However, I can get the image to disappear in the component preview window as well just by zooming in and out.

View -> Camera -> Edit...
...and in the section of the dialog labeled 'Clipping', select the 'Fit Planes to Extents' button and then hit OK. Also make sure that in...
Preferences -> Visualization -> View/Screen
...that in the section labeled 'Session Settings' that the 'Disable Auto Z Clipping Planes Update for Fit' is NOT toggled ON. If it is, then you may need to go to Customer Defaults and set this to be OFF if this is not something that you wish to be the default behavior.
