API.ORG PRACTICE QUESTION? 653

API.ORG PRACTICE QUESTION? 653

(OP)
Just playing around and looking at api.org and this question I ran across thought it was not right.

Correct Answer: 4
F. Partial or complete jacking of a tank shell is considered:
1. routine maintenance.
2. a minor alteration.
3. a minor repair.
4. a major repair.

Maybe I am not reading this right or if I am over looking it but from the definition for major and minor repair it seems like it can be both..

RE: API.ORG PRACTICE QUESTION? 653

API 650 doesn't describe minor repair.

API 653 3.24: "Repairs include both major repairs (see 3.18) and repairs that are not major repairs."

See section 3.18.h for answer.

RE: API.ORG PRACTICE QUESTION? 653

oops..

API 653 doesn't describe minor repair....

RE: API.ORG PRACTICE QUESTION? 653

4 is the correct answer.  See 3.19.h. for the exact wording.

okay guys thanks I knew I had over looked or miss understood something

3.24 Work necessary to maintain or restore a tank to a condition suitable for safe operation. Repairs include both major
repairs (see 3.18) and repairs that are not major repairs. Examples of repairs include:

When it says "Repairs that are not major" and then it listed some examples I thought those Ex was non major repair

Thanks guys again for your help!

RE: API.ORG PRACTICE QUESTION? 653

And 3.24 includes a typo where the references (3.18) should be (3.19).  This typo also occurs at 12.3.1.b
