Overall Building Quantities

Overall Building Quantities

Overall Building Quantities

(OP)
Does anyone have a ballpark estimate of overall quantity of reinforcing steel for buildings in terms of built-up area (psf)?

I have seen numbers ranging from 4 to 6 psf.

RE: Overall Building Quantities

I've done some based on cubic yards (of concrete). They're usually in the range of 100 to 250 lb. per cu yd.
Two way slabs (thin with a lot of reinforcing) are on the high side.

RE: Overall Building Quantities

Depends on building type, but Jed's method works. RSmeans or Walkers might have some more specifics or psf based quantities.
