The specification states that hot applied thermo-plastic materials shall be of such rthickness to uniformly coat the equivalent of 14mm single surface dressin g and having a minimum thickness of 3mm.But the manufacturer says that the road marking paint of 3mm thickeness is too thick.Please assist of this issue prior advising the Contractor.

thermoplastic and paint are 2 different things....... 3mm (1/8 ")is a fairly typical thickness for extruded thermoplastic markings.
