Where has Roymech gone!! Doesn't come up in google search + website no longer works. Where can I go now for quick and easy reference to mechanical questions?

RE: Roymech

It looks as as though something bad has happened to their site

Here is all I could find out on a website search.

The good engineer does not need to memorize every formula; he just needs to know where he can find them when he needs them.  Old professor

RE: Roymech

As of 2012/02/13, Roymech is back up again.  I could find no mention of why the site went down, or any mention of the current status of Roy Beardmore.  The website has been updated in the last couple of months.

RE: Roymech

I still can't connect to the site..

RE: Roymech

Oops! Google Chrome could not find roymech.co.uk.

Doesn't work with IE either.

RE: Roymech

It works fine with me,
check your computer.

From their web site:

Message to visitors..I am sorry that my website was down from 03/02/2012 to 12/02/2012, I have had major problems.     To mitigate these problems in the future I have now started up a clone website http://www.Roymechx.co.uk. Please note this address.  I also provide a advert free website download.
Note the dates. Apparently the web site got stuck in a time warp.

RE: Roymech

Walterke,
everything okay in Belgium?

RE: Roymech

Do you guys still use the 24 hr clock for time?  Say it is 3:00 PM here - is it normal for you to say 1500 hour??

RE: Roymech

It's not uncommon to say 1700 h; but the 24h-clock gets used mostly in written communication (like times for meetings, TV-guides, in calendars, ...).
In spoken language, the 12h-clock is mostly used.

RE: Roymech

Remember in the UK it is day month year.

RE: Roymech

..and in Australia and the rest of the world..

If you are concerned about the order of documents then I would use the ISO system year month date.

Old site still doesn't work for me (been down for a couple of months not days) but the clone does so all good.
