I have a metal stud wall with brick facing that is attached to a PEMB structure at the top.  The city is requiring stud and connection calcs and I'm need to verify the seismic loads.  I am using C&C loads for wind but am not sure what equations I should use for the seismic load.

Using section 12.8, Equivalent Lateral Force Procedure, an R value has to be used and I don't know of one that should be used for a wall that in not resisting shear or a part of the MWFRS (PEMB building).  

Section 12.11, Structural Walls and Their Anchorage, seems to be what I am looking for but I don't see an equation in that area for vertical reaction.  Does anyone know if this wall would be required to be designed for a seismic vertical reaction other than the regular dead load?

The anchorage paragraphs, 12.11.2 12.11.2.1 etc., seem to be talking about walls made of concrete or masonry. If mine is cold form metal stud, does anyone know of any special anchorage that has to be looked at?

If the stud wll is cladding (not load bearing and not a shear wall), look at chapter 13 of ASCE 7-05. There are equations for horizontal and vertical forces.

The wall is not not a shear wall.  It supports a brick veneer which is foundation supported, however, is tied to the stud system. I was not sure about the use of Chp. 13 with the bricks being tied to the studs.

So if I did end up using Chp. 13, there is only a horizontal component of force to the stud/connection?  There is no vertical component like there would be using the Equivalent Lateral Force Procedure of Chp. 12 for the main structure?

Section 13.3.1 includes a vertical force - "In addition, the component shall be designed for a concurrent vertical force ±0.2SDSWp"
