Lighting Panel schedule

Lighting Panel schedule

Lighting Panel schedule

(OP)
All,
I have a 208/120V, 3Ph, 4W lighting panel. I want to list a 1Ph 208V, 1000W connected between phases 1 and 2. I think the right way is to list 1000w for each phase 1 and 2. Please advise if this is right.
Thanks for your input.

RE: Lighting Panel schedule

I would list 1000 VA for one pole and 0 for the other.

RE: Lighting Panel schedule

Placing 500 VA on phase 1 and 500 VA on phase 2 will keep the sum of the total load on each phase more accurate.  The total 3 phase panelboard VA is the same in either method.  The per phase sum is inaccurate in both methods, especially if we use the summation to estimate the total phase currents.

It's not worth the efffort to get accurate phase currents from a panel schedule due to the variability in load power factor and diversity.  Accurate current calculations would use the power factor of each load and sum currents vectorially, accounting for the phase angle of phase-phase load currents.  Errors in estimated total load and per phase load from splitting the VA's per phase are within the variability of the load data.

RE: Lighting Panel schedule

Of course rcwilson is correct and my answer was wrong.  We always split the load between the poles.  Not sure what I was thinking - sorry for the confusion.  It's been a long week.....
