damping

damping

(OP)
hi
how can i introduce damping in a dynamic study with abaqus
i tried to introduce a damping in material propreties but the response is always ninusoidal but i think that it should be equal to zero at the end of the step

can you explain please how can i do a dinamic study
and a dinamic modal study

when i do a dinamic modal study i find results equal to zero

thanks

RE: damping

What kind of damping do you want to analyze? Are you calculating with modal damping in the frequency domain? When you are expecting zero at the end of the step, I guess you are not talking frequency domain. It would help if you could explain what you are after.

RE: damping

(OP)
i want to introduce a damping in a dynamic implicit analysis but i didn't know how can i introduce it. because  iwant to introduce a sinusoidal excitation so the response shoud have two regime a transitory one and a permenant one then it shoud be equal to zero if i introduce damping.

so my question are the following

how can i introduce a damping in a dynamic implicit analysis ?

how can i introduce a sinusoidal excitation ?

i'm studing a problem which  friction how can i see the stick and slip regimes?

how can i plot curves of the displacement function to the time

thanks
