Thermal Mapping in Ansys Mechanical

Thermal Mapping in Ansys Mechanical

Thermal Mapping in Ansys Mechanical

(OP)
We need to create an output from an inhouse thermal analysis that can be read into our customers ANSYS Mechanical package.  What formats are available for thermal mapping?  Our mesh is different than the customer mesh, but we can handle mapping if necessary
Thank you in advance

RE: Thermal Mapping in Ansys Mechanical

what program are you exporting data from?

the mapping is dependent on the settings in ansys and how you define the imported data in ansys.

it could be a text file with location of nodes, relative to a local coordinate axis, and corresponding solution data.

you can then assign the data to a table and tell ansys what it is and put in the appropriate commands to map the data and interpolate it to the mesh.

i would suggest asking them how they want the data.
maybe sending them a well defined spreadsheet would be good enough.
