PVC off gassing

PVC off gassing

PVC off gassing

(OP)
Hello I am looking for information on the off-gassing or out-gassing (I have seen both terms used) of Electrical PVC conduit at various temperatures. Is this information available??

RE: PVC off gassing

I am sure some information is available but not readily accessible to everyone.

It does vary by grade and manufacturer and with time as it is mainly plasticiser migration and plasticiser formulations vary depending on changes in relative price and perceived toxicity.

You are more likely to get information from a PVC polymer manufacturer than a smaller compounder or a conduit extruder.

If you can get data on the plasticiser used the plasticiser manufacturer might have some data.

Pat
