Hi All,

Would any of you be kind enough to confirm me the following.

If material of the pipe is A358 TP 321 Class 2 EFW

A358 Specifications Quote

"1.3.2 Class 2—Pipe shall be double welded by processes
employing filler metal in all passes. No radiography is required."

Then

For Piping Stress Analysis (B31.3)

Long. Weld Quality Factor (E) = ?

I am taking 0.7.

Is that right?

Regards,

Tabby

RE: Weld Quality Factor (E)

According to 2008 ASME B31.3, Table 302.3.4 for double butt welded, long seam pipe, Type 3 weld joint, the weld joint quality factor should be 0.85.
