known issues with 3051 electronic modules

known issues with 3051 electronic modules

(OP)
Hello all-
Soliciting to see if there are known issues with Rosemount electronic modules for 3051 ( PN 3031-0001-0002). Have had 2 failures in past 12 months ( out of hundreds of transmitters) but the 2 were on critical transmitters

RE: known issues with 3051 electronic modules

Curious as to failure mode.

Did they fail driving the output up or down scale or did they go dark and fail to drive an output at all?

RE: known issues with 3051 electronic modules

I would send the modules to emerson for a failure analysis. They would be interested in knowing how it failed as well. At one time emerson had an issue with 3051 models that had the lighting protection module added to the terminal block. The D/A board as also had issues. Example would be that the transmitter display would show an output, but the transmitter was not sending the output back to the DCS.

Regards,
 Aldo
