PD5500 vessel with A350LF3 flanges

Hi,

I am to design a PD5500 pressure vessel where the client has specified A350 LF3 flanges because the design temp is -50 Deg C.

I can't find this flange material listed in PD5500

Can I use these flanges ?

Any help is appreciated.

RE: PD5500 vessel with A350LF3 flanges

PD5500-2009 2.1.2.1c would permit the material if it can "be agreed between purchaser, Inspecting Authority and manufacturer, be documented [see 1.5.2.2b] and conform to 2.1.2.2

I hope this is of help to you.

Thanks fegenbush
LF3 is an unusual material for us to use.
We only thought there might be an issue when our design software PV Elite did not list the material, it shows only LF1
It caused us a bit of worry for a moment.
Cheers
