Bearing Stiffeners - Nominal Bending resistance?

Bearing Stiffeners - Nominal Bending resistance?

(OP)
I am following AASHTO LRFD (1998) section 6.9.2.  I need to define Mr.

In the LFRD code (1998) article 6.12.1 refers to H-shaped members.  What the devil is being referred to here?  Is this an I-shape that we've renamed after turning it on its side?

I probably need double or triple stiffeners for this particular bridge.  Is the above section the place for defining the flexural resistance?  The buckling/stifness code provisions in this code make me dizzy!!
