I would like to add our own components in Fastener Assembly. According to the documentation should you go to, Tools-> Reuse Library-> Fastener Assembly Assistant-> Customize Fastener Assembly and then right-click the top node and choose Add Standard.

Here comes my problem, Add Standard is greyed out and I get a pop-up box saying "File is open for read only".

Does anyone know how to make this work? Which variables must be set?

I have tried the NX 8 help documentation with no luck. I am familiar with setting up variables but I can't make this work.

Thanks

RE: Customize Fastener Assembly Nx 8.01 does not work.

All files under NX installation are in read only.
You have to copy files in an writable folder, set in the customer default the new position and modify.
Remember that if you overwrite again the original, maybe with an new MR you can loose all your customization.

Thank you...

Using NX 8 and TC8.3

Thank you for your quick answer, made me do a second attempt.

Solved it by setting the search path to ReuseLibraryFasteners.krx in Customer Defaults (Gateway->Reuse Library->Fastener Assembly->User Defined Fastener Assembly Configuration File).
