Does neutral earthing cause voltage on neutral?
Does neutral earthing cause voltage on neutral?
(OP)
Scenario:
If a neutral on a supply cable is earthed back at the supply transformer and this neutral cable core is looped through various metering kiosks before the transformer and the neutral is connected to the frame of these kiosks is there a voltage on the neutral cable core and hence on the kiosk enclosure?
Thanks

After a long explanation the more accurate answer is "negligible".

Then it is recommended to ground the neutral at both ends.

Hope I am making some sense.

so could be a voltage drop -in case of unbalanced three phases distribution or -as rughun said -single phase return current.
But as the kiosk frame is embedded-I hope- that means "grounded" then the voltage drop will be "negligible" as waross said. Am I right?
If the supplied area is well remote in a phase-to-ground short circuit case this "potential difference" may be significant if the "kiosk grounding" is weak.
