Drawing view naming irritation

Drawing view naming irritation

Drawing view naming irritation

(OP)
When creating section and detail views Solidworks automatically names the view with the next letter in the alphabet after the last view it named. However, if I delete one of the views, Solidworks doesn't "recycle" that name, so every time I create a view from then on I have to manually rename it if I don't want a gap in the letters. This is kind of irritating. Does this bother anyone else?

RE: Drawing view naming irritation

You can adjust this in the sheet properties, under "Next view label".

Excellent, thanks! That sure was an easy fix.

RE: Drawing view naming irritation

It's 'after the fact' I think, but you can click the button 'Manual View Label' - and name it whatever you want.
