Yasnac 2000G
Yasnac 2000G
(OP)
I have this Miyano lathe, with Yasnac 2000G control. Well, I am a Fanuc and Fadal type of guy, so I am stumbling slowly forward. After I put some fresh batteries in it, and plugged the parameters in....I whipped up a test program. I'm getting hung up on tool touching and work coordinate setting. The machine will execute a program, but I don't know how to tell it where it's Datum's are. Do I touch, and then zero my "external position", or do I touch and take the numbers from "universal position" and plug them into the tool offset X & Z? I don't know where it's counting from while running, and how to set the Datums. Do I need to be at machine home before starting my program. I have 2 books, a Miyano book, and a Yasnac 2000G book, neither of which are clear on work coordinate setting. One book says to use a G50 on the line before tool call up, to recognize the work coordinates...the other says to use a G58 on the same line as tool call up. I can't seem to find the secret recipe for this thing. So If anyone could give me a basic "walk through" of tool touching, and setting work coordinates, I would be so very happy. Any input at all would be greatly appreciated. Thanks......Carthius

RE: Yasnac 2000G
X and Z as position preset. Also you need to return to that same position at the end of that tool.IE:
T0100
G50X80000Z50000M8
G97S500T0100M3
G00X10000Z2500
--------
--------
G00X80000Z50000
T0100
M01
Note that each tool will have a different G50 position.
This was replace years later with the "geometry offset"
Generally, on smaller machines, you would set the G50's
from the "zero return" position.
The Yasnac 2000G control was at one time a real work horse
on several machine tools.
I still have a 1981 Mori-Seiki with that control, and it works.
Good luck---mkapel@aol.com
