Rendering problem by importing a Rhino 5 model (.sat) in Abaqus 6.9-3
Rendering problem by importing a Rhino 5 model (.sat) in Abaqus 6.9-3
(OP)
Hi,
I have created a model (mm dimensions) in Rhino 5 and I imported to Abaqus 6.9-3 as a .sat file. The problem is that my model looks very distorted. It seems that there is a rendering problem. I refined the rendering both in Rhino and Abaqus (by curve refinement-->extra fine) but it still has problem. The model is being improved a lot when I mesh it but still there are some problems. Does anybody had such experience? Is there any advice what should I do? How could I refine it more?
Thank u in advance,
Giorgos

I don't know what the rest of the model looks like but have you considered using beam elements rather than a 3D solid bar for such thin sections?

Concerning the model, maybe I have to design it in Abaqus since I have these importing problems. Somehow abaqus doesnt look happy with the circular profile. However, thank you veru much for your advices. Cheers!
