hi, i am new to the qc'ing world and am scheduled to do a job in kansas for a maintenece company. i understand that they have a couple of coded vessels that they will be working on, what kind of information should i include in the packages for the customer.

RE: new to qc'ing

NBIC R1 or R2, Drawings denoting repair, welding procedures used, welder qualifications of welders making the repair, MTRs for materials used, NDE reports, hydrotest documentation.

RE: new to qc'ing

Add to my list above, the original U-1 or U-1A Code Data Report if available.

RE: new to qc'ing

cnieto,

Are you working for the maintenance company performing the work or the customer (plant owner)?

i work for the maintenece company as qc tech.  i have worked at this facility before with the same maintenece co. but we only worked on bolt up items, no code work or piping.

RE: new to qc'ing

Also get a copy of API-510.  NBIC is strongly slanted towards boilers, and is very light on pressure vessels.  API-510 is the opposite hand, strong on vessels & light on boilers.
