MgO powder in electric heaters
MgO powder in electric heaters
(OP)
I would like to know the type of MgO powder used in electric heaters like Calrod or cartridge as an electic insulator and thermal conductor. I would also like to find a supplier and method of application to heater.

RE: MgO powder in electric heaters
The amount of size reduction after filling is key.
After all the MgO won't get any denser. So particle size is chosen to give the right fill ratio so that it consolidates in the final draw.
All of it that I have ever seen is pure MgO, either a powder or granular form.

Make sure that moisture is completely precluded from your system.
MgO is relatively unstable in general applications, almost always converting or reacting.
