Using a customized parts list template

Using a customized parts list template

Using a customized parts list template

(OP)
I have been trying to set up a customized parts list template but the help document tell me to change this variable to point for a template part in Teamcenter. Where do I find this variable? Is it just in the customer defaults?

(Drafting_plistTCINDefaultPartsListName=@DB/my_template/rev)

Many thanks

Simon.

RE: Using a customized parts list template

The parts list templates reside under the following path on my C drive C:\Program Files\UGS\NX 7.5\UGII\table_files I found the template named generic_parts_list_pdm_metric.prt and saved a copy off to my desk top.

I then created an empty item in Teamcenter and added a model dataset and imported the .prt in to the named references. I opened this in NX which was basically a simple table with 3 headers (PC NO, PART NAME AND QTY) I added another columnn and changed the columns so the following attributes would be displayed under these headings ITEM (<W$=@CALLOUT>) PART NUMBER ($=) PART NAME (<W$=@DB_PART_NAME>) and QTY ($~Q)I also changed the format so the headed was at the top and the parts list grew in size downwards as well as turning on SORT ON UPDDATE.

In NX I went to customer defaults, Draffting, Annotation and Parts List and in the text box next to Default Parts List: TCIN mode I typed the following: @DB/part_name/rev

Now when I use the add parts list command on the drafting tool bar, my nice shiney new parts list comes in with all the correct columns and formating showing.
