Solid Edge to SimMechanics

Solid Edge to SimMechanics

Hi all. I'm new to Simulink. I have a CAD model generated in Solid Edge that I'd like import into SimMechanics. I see there is a link tool for Inventor, SW and ProE. Can I manually import my SE model into SimMechanics? SE only lets me save files as a .plmxml and not a .xml as far as I can tell. Can I use SimMechanics and CAD models without the Link tool? Thanks
JL

Thanks FeX32. I did some reading and it seems that for other CAD platforms you need to use the API utility.
