I've seen that a copper based thread lubricant is not recommended for use in HF alkylation units, rather a Nickel base anti seize compound is recommended. Why is that? I've heard that for marine applications to prevent a galvanic cell from forming but not HF units.Thanks

See the link above, you might find that the composition of the nickel form a stonger passive later than the composition of the copper at your specific concentration of HF.
