Hole Patterns with Same datums
Hole Patterns with Same datums
(OP)
Say you have a hole pattern of 2x dia .25 holes depth .5 held with a position of dia .010 to datums A, B and C and another hole pattern of 2x dia .25 holes depth .75 with a position of dia .010 to datums A, B, and C on the same surface.
Does the fact that the two hole patterns are called out to the same datums mean the pattern of the four holes will be held to eachother within .010?
Any reference to the standard would be helpful.

RE: Hole Patterns with Same datums
Technically, they will form one single pattern held within DIA.010 to A, B, and C.
You can go around this by adding "SEPARATE REQUIREMENT" note.

In the 1994 standard the paragraphs to reference are 5.3.6.1 and 5.3.6.2.
