NDT for Valves

NDT for Valves

NDT for Valves

(OP)
Hi,

I'm already working in a CC power plant project (ASME B31.1) where the client establishes the percentage or range for the Non Destructive Test in valves.

But now I'm wondering if these percentages or range of examination are established in a international standard? or just depend the clients or theirs guidelines?

*for example: for pressure seal valves and class 900, 1500, 2500 and 4500 the supplier must comply with:
- 100% magnetic particle in critical areas.
- 100% penetrant liquid in stellite areas apportation.

RE: NDT for Valves

Excellent NDT requirements for general and special class valves. Look at ASME B16.34 for referenced material specifications (which may impose NDT) and under Special Class valves - NDT requirements are provided.
