shot peening using ANSYS

(OP)
In order to do a shot peening process using ANSYS, should i use explicit dynamics solver or the ANSYS LS-DYNA solver..Some ppl i ask they say use the 1st one and the others tell me to use the other..Which sholud i use..damn confused and i'm very very new in ANSYS..lIKE SUPER BEGINEER

RE: shot peening using ANSYS

1. You likely should use explicit dynamics to model shot-peening.  LS-DYNA has explicit dynamics.  I'm not sure if there are other explicit dynamics capabilities in ANSYS.

2. Shot-peening is a pretty difficult problem for a beginner in FEA.

Good Luck
