Better view than in B747/767 CMM?
Better view than in B747/767 CMM?
(OP)
Does anyone have a better view of the seal installation for PW4000 TRs on 747/767? The CMM 71-11-56 figure 8 is nearly useless for locating seals on the L/H reversers. The L/H and R/H reverser seals are not completely symmetric and none of the R/H seals are shown so it is competely useless for the R/H reverser. Specifically I'm trying to locate where item 45 - 315T3240-7 and item 50 - 315T3241-55 should go. Our mechanics replaced each seal as they took off the old one and had these two left over and were scratching their heads.
If anyone has pictures, or a work instruction card that has more detail it would be much appreciated. Thanks,
-Kirby

a few bits left over when the job's done !
could you work through the owner of the a/c ? Boeing "should" support them, say they've got an AOG ... and they need better description than their manual ? mind you, i'm guessing you're not an approved Boeing fleet support shop, so ...
(not saying you do a crappy job, just saying that Boeing could say, take it to one of our shops ...)

Got an old college buddy that works at another airline (that also operates 747's)?
The MD-11's have PW4460 engines; do they have similar thrust reversers?

Try to contact the Boeing field rep for your area.
Some details are only shown on eng. dwgs and if the operator is a tier 1, then they should have access to these...
