NX7.5 Customer Defaults ~ Drafting Standard

NX7.5 Customer Defaults ~ Drafting Standard

NX7.5 Customer Defaults ~ Drafting Standard

(OP)
We are moving up to NX7.5, and I am tweaking our customer defaults.
I needed to come up with a customized drafting standard, which I saved under a unique name.

I can access this drafting standard from my computer, and it shows up in my "Tools -> Drafting Standard" list,
but it does not show in the NX sessions of the other users that loaded the customer defaults.
I opened up the .dpv file and saw that the customized drafting standard is in there.

How do I make this customized drafting standard available to the other NX users?

RE: NX7.5 Customer Defaults ~ Drafting Standard

1) Is the custom_standard file in a newtoekr location?
2) Is the .dpv file shared with all users?
3) Does the .dpv file have different sections for local/user changes versus system-wide changes?

1) Yes, it is located someplace on the network. Somebody else is doing he loading of NX7.5 and is responsible for that. All they want me to do is modify the customer defaults.
2) Yes, I put the .dpv file in a location where others can get to it.
3) I really don't see in the Customer Defaults where I can make those changes. All I see on top of the menu is a "Defaults Level" menu with only one "User" choice in there.

I have a feeling that I need special privledges for this.

RE: NX7.5 Customer Defaults ~ Drafting Standard

if you only see user then you're not setup for site wide defaults.
you need to set the UGII_SITE_DIR variable to point to a location that everyone can access. Then you can have SITE defaults in the customer defaults.

if you want, post an NX log file and I can make more sense of how your system is setup
