How can I hide the sketch origin(not part origin) permanantly?

How can I hide the sketch origin(not part origin) permanantly?

How can I hide the sketch origin(not part origin) permanantly?

(OP)
I have a project with many imported parts where the part origin is way out in space in relation to the part geometry.  Since all of the parts are located in the assembly file to the orgins of the parts, I cant move the bodys more in relation to their origins.  So I've hidded the origin in the fmt, and set the part to hide origins.  So the part origin doesnt show up at all-great!

Here's the real problem.  I start a sketch, draw some geometry, do a view all, to get a better perspective on the part, and the part becomes miniscule, because the sketch origin becomes part of the view all area.

I've been thru the following thread which i think i've digested and exhausted the options to no avail(it's kind of old,2007)."thread559-181693: Origins turned on in sketch?"

Please send advise.
Thanks

RE: How can I hide the sketch origin(not part origin) permanantly?

Whenever I import a dumb file with an illogical origin, I take the time to create a new Coordinate System, export as a parasolid with the "use new CS" option, and then re-import and save as a SW part. You could also use the Move/Copy Bodies function to relocate the model to the wayward origin.

You may have to bite the bullet and do the same.

Alternatively, and maybe less work, you can just create a custom view and use that instead of doing the View All.

Before you 'view all' select a surface and 'view normal' or 'view selected'.

Look in your customize settings for Move Modify sketch origin. you can should use this at start of eack sketch to place the origin otherwise it will be made at active Part/Asm origin. if you hide the sketch the origin should not be considerred  by view fit.

MJCole, it sounds like your heading me in the right direction, but I can seem to find where the customisible settings are for the "move/modify sketch origin" is.  Can you detail your tip a little farther for me.
Thanks
