Unkown unit of piston and rod area

Unkown unit of piston and rod area

Hi again,
Can anyone please shed some light on a unit of area I've not seen before?  I'm using a software called FluidSim to simulate various pneumatic circuits.  When I open the dialogue box to adjust a double acting cylinder's parameters, I see the units of piston and ring area as "qcm" (see attachment).  In the pull down tab, you can also select "qmm" and "qin".
What's funny is that when I read the help file (see attachment), it says nothing about this unit, and in fact tells me that the adjustable parameters is actually the diameter.
Googling, I found something about an ancient Roman unit of area called the quinaria, but not sure exactly how this relates.
Any help is appreciated.
Vitorio

I'm sure it is German base where q stands for the word "Quadrat" which means square. So, "qcm" are cm² and "qmm" are mm² and qin means sqaure inch.

Ask the company from whom you bought the software.

Thank you, micalbrch.  "Quadrat" makes sense.  Learning Latin (quinaria) and German (quadrat) during Fluid Power in my college technician course, haha.
Thanks again.
