Threaded hole line color in modeling

Threaded hole line color in modeling

Threaded hole line color in modeling

Can (how) you change the dashed line color representing the i.d. of a threaded hole in modeling. Now it is the same as the bodly color which is very difficult to see. Much like you can change the color in drafting. ??

RE: Threaded hole line color in modeling

It appears to me that there is not a way to do what you want.
I see that it is possible in "Drafting" to do it, but not in "Modeling">
I hope, for your sake, I am wrong.

RE: Threaded hole line color in modeling

It uses whatever is the default arc colour.
You will probably find that your arcs & solids are using the same value of default so they end up the same colour.
Change either one to specific colour using Preferences -> Object, then change the Type to whatever you want to change and specify a colour. This will only apply for the current part but you can change your template parts to make it permanent.

RE: Threaded hole line color in modeling

If you wish to change the default for the future, than what Tony said was accurate, however, you can select the existing 'arcs' while in Modeling as 'curves' and simply edit their display, changing the color to whatever you desire, like any other curve.

To an Engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.

RE: Threaded hole line color in modeling

Well that does seem to work even though the solid and line defaults where different colors in the default settings. I changed the defaults while in the modeling session and that accomplished what I wanted. I think a modeling default color for threads would be helpful. They thought of it in drafting ?? Thanks for all the help!!
