thread378-96214: Pipe to sleeper corrosion

Thanks for the comments, our refinery was built using nothing under the pipe, then pipes were lifted and round bar was used. I agree that the round bar puts a point stress load on already weakened pipe (due to corrosion); we have also tried FRP pads and of course we didn't do a very good job installing the first few, so inspections will not allow us to use them any more. I will use a teflon liner in this certain case.

Doubtful you need teflon if it is not required for minimizing friction from expansion or contraction.
