number creation for machining

i have solid with 50 circular pocket in it with a diameter of 30mm. this is going to machined out of aluminium or plastic to create a mold to keep samples of resin used on a job, each pocket needs a number in the bottom to identify each piece of resin, how could i create a numbering system, 1 to 50 on the bottom of the pockets that can be machined out with out creating each 3D number manually?

RE: number creation for machining

If you're working with a machine shop, they probably have some special software for engraving the numbers directly in the mold.

But if you want to model the numbers in 3D and show them in your CATIA model, there are many posts on this and other forums with the detailed steps.  Search for "3d text" or "3d lettering"

RE: number creation for machining

check out www.TextinCATIA.com  Several students at Purdue Univ wrote a little program to create 3D text.
