the generator shutdown when battery disconnected

dear electrical experts
the generator type RS14 14KVA shutdown directry when battery are disconnected .
note the generator has no separte altenator for battery charging and the main output power is O.K ??

The second question ,our tow new generators have dameged diode(this diode connected across engine started relay and ground in parllel)which prevent stator to start.can i cancle it ? and what is the reasone of damege???
thank you.

RE: the generator shutdown when battery disconnected

would the battery provide power for the control circuits?  the battery could be the power to engine protection switches like loss of oil pressure, thus the logic would be trip upon loss of power, since the protection is no longer available

RE: the generator shutdown when battery disconnected

Many  small generators use a 12 Volt "energize to run" solenoid valve in the fuel line. No 12 Volts equals no fuel.

RE: the generator shutdown when battery disconnected

Isn't this a "lawnmower" engine?
the brochure states the battery start is an option, but it doesn't state how to return to a pull rope crank

RE: the generator shutdown when battery disconnected

These engines typically have a magnet embedded in the flywheel and a closely mounted coil to supply energy to the ignition system. Another coil may be added and the output rectified to provide a couple of amps for battery charging. In many designs these coils are not visible unless the flywheel is removed. Some designs mount the coils outside of the flywheel. On hand started sets with a battery start option we often start them with jumper cables and don't have a permanently installed battery.
Blown diodes and won't run without a battery? Possibly damaged by a battery installed with the wrong polarity. It only takes an instant to do the damage.
