Roof Diaphram with Cold Formed Joists

Roof Diaphram with Cold Formed Joists

(OP)
I am designing a small CMU building (only 1200sf). The proposed roof by contractor will be cold formed Zee or Cee purlin joists with 1.5F 20Ga Vulcraft deck. I know that deck selected is ok for diaphragm loads, but is using Z or C cold formed shapes ok for this application? I've only used steel bar joists for this type of application. Thanks.

RE: Roof Diaphram with Cold Formed Joists

Except the code mandates otherwise, both Z and C secondary members have been used successfully for roof applications, so, technically there must not be other problem than selecting them able to take the loads and use proper fasteners.
