Bolt thread stress concentration factors

Bolt thread stress concentration factors

(OP)
Dear all,
I'm attempting to determine stress concentration factors in screw threads for con rod bolts.  I Have the nominal stresses defined but need to account for stress concentration due to notches.

I am unable to find any methods that account for notches in bolts so any advice would be appreciated, maybe simple FEA would be an option?

many thanks

RE: Bolt thread stress concentration factors

Lots of information published on this subject.  Check SAE Technical Papers, ASTM Special Technical Publications, and various journal articles.
