Adjustable Shaft(for measurement)

Adjustable Shaft(for measurement)

Adjustable Shaft(for measurement)

(OP)
I am looking for an adjusable shaft to measure the perpendicularity of a hole.  The problem is that the hole can varry in diameter by quite a bit(.015).
The same concept is used in a bore mic but I do not need to actually measure the hole.

RE: Adjustable Shaft(for measurement)

A set of gage pins is the usual approach - i.e. pick the tightest/best fitting pin and go from there.

RE: Adjustable Shaft(for measurement)

Many bore gages can be mechanically locked to hold the reading. Sounds like that is exactly what you are asking for.
