Side holes on pipes :how it affect fluid flow rate/pressure

Side holes on pipes :how it affect fluid flow rate/pressure

Side holes on pipes :how it affect fluid flow rate/pressure

(OP)
How side holes on the tube  will affect fluid  flow  rate /pressure drop  ?
Does  distance   from the  tip will  affect flow  rate  ?
Thank you

RE: Side holes on pipes :how it affect fluid flow rate/pressure

What tip?

What flow rate?

What fluid?

How big is the hole?

The actual delta P depends on the above, but you can expect the value to be negligible based on the fact that fluid velocity is slower by the wall of the tube and fastest in the centre.

To know for sure, you would have to measure the pressure either side of the hole.

(OP)
Ideal flow rate 550-650 ml /min
Fluid -blood
size  of the  hole  variable :I can adjust  it anyway to  make  flow
rate  bigger : i have  two sizes  of pipe  where i can apply it :
first  pipe  OD 2.8 mm ,second pipe OD 1.6 mm .How  large  in your opinion  should  be sideholes to come into play ?
What do you  mean  by tip?

RE: Side holes on pipes :how it affect fluid flow rate/pressure

"tip" came from your first question - "Does  distance   from the  tip will  affect flow  rate  ?"

Can we look at this from a different direction..?

What are you trying to achieve?

Normally fluid has flow boundary layers, I am not sure the same laws apply to blood. How to measure the pressure loss is a question?

RE: Side holes on pipes :how it affect fluid flow rate/pressure

tip its end hole.will  the distance from endhole to  sidehole affect
flow rate ?How size of sidehole will affect flow  rate ?
trying to achieve max flow rate .limited by pressure neg pressure cannot be more than 260-270  mm Hg
Of course will try  to keep diameter as large  as possible and length as  short as possible
What do u mean "Can we look at this from a different  direction? "
Blood has same boundary layers  .
