Non-contact 3d profilometer suggestions

Non-contact 3d profilometer suggestions

(OP)
Hi every body,

I am looking for a new non-contact 3d profilometer for our inspection station. Does anybody have an idea about a provider?

I am trying to measure the surface roughness of reflective steel using a non-contact 3d profilometer.  I am having problems due to the reflectiveness of the finish. I heard white light profilometers have a very hard time unless some spray is applied. Do other technologies (ie: LCI non contact 3d profilometers  ) have better results?

Thanks a lot.

RE: Non-contact 3d profilometer suggestions

I would give Keyence a call about your specific requirements.  Keyence is one of several companies that might be able to help.

We have had success at 2 microinch Ra with white light interferometers (have not tried a lower Ra than that).  Veeco and Zygo are two companies that serve this application.
