Power Transformer with Drawn Leads Bushings

Power Transformer with Drawn Leads Bushings

Power Transformer with Drawn Leads Bushings

(OP)
For a 60 MVA transformer, 1300 kV BIL, operating at 365 kV continuous:

1) What are the pros and cons of using the drawn Leads bushings versus the fix connection?

2) Are any reliability concerns with this type of bushings particularly with oversize rated BIL but with higher than usual power frequency voltage above 362 kV?

RE: Power Transformer with Drawn Leads Bushings

1)Draw lead connection-Easy for site connection. But for higher currents draw lead is difficult and fix connection is preferred. But sometime shielding of fixed connection is a problem esp at the BIL levels mentioned by you.

2) No reliability concerns with good quality draw lead designs which are there for many years.Probably at the BIL mentioned, there are only draw lead or draw rod  designs available.
