Configuration to Suppress Fasteners

Configuration to Suppress Fasteners

Configuration to Suppress Fasteners

(OP)
Hi all,

I'm stumped on this one.  I have an assembly with several different configurations which includes some toolbox fasteners.  I'd like to be able to configure the fasteners to suppress and unsuppress based on the configuration I'd like to use, but can't figure out how to do it.

Any tips?  Seems like is should be very simple, but I've not been able to figure this one out.

Thanks,

Matt

RE: Configuration to Suppress Fasteners

Suppression states per config are usually set manually from the Feature Manager or a Design Table or the Configure Component function.

If you need a more automated method you could use an IF statement in a DT or Equation.

RE: Configuration to Suppress Fasteners

I don't have Toolbox to experiment.

Try using a DT.

RE: Configuration to Suppress Fasteners

One thing I have found to be helpful is create a hardware folder in the assembly feature manager tree and place your bolts etc. in it. Then you just have to suppress the folder.

Well I figured out a work around of sorts.  Typically I select the components in the design tree that I want to supress or change their configuration state.  Then right click and choose Configure Component.  This is not available when right clicking on parts from the toolbox (not sure why...).  BUT if you also choose a non toolbox component and right click on it, all the selected components will appear in the Modify Configurations box.

RE: Configuration to Suppress Fasteners

In the Configuration Manager
1) RMB on the config of interest
2) Select "Advanced Selection" from the menu
3) Select File Type in Category 1
4) Condition "="
5) Value should be set to fastener.

This will select all fasteners in the model.
You can isolate, suppress, delete, etc. from there.
