Plywood gusset design

(OP)
Is there a simple rule of thumb for design of plywood gussets? I have a 10' span, 5:12 pitch, 2x4 cords & webs, kingpost design. I'd like to make the trusses myself and use plywood gussets. Trying to avoid the SWAG method. Any help is appreciated.

RE: Plywood gusset design

Calculate the force in each member and size the gusset for the required nails. With this short of span the shear design at the reaction should not be a problem. See attached article for more information.

As EOR's we should take the responsibility to design our structures to support the components we allow in our design per that industry standards.

Check shear thru the plywood and you are done.

SWAG at this span is probably OK

I wasn't sure what the SWAG method was, so I looked it up...Scientific Wild Assed Guess.  Good method.
