Reamer question

Reamer question

Reamer question

(OP)
Hi all,

If a reamer cuts oversize and leaves behind a bellmouthed shape at beginning of the hole.  What is my problem?

Do i need another reamer or is it the alignement of the work piece with the tool?

thanks

RE: Reamer question

The reamer cutting oversize could be any number of things, too much material left for reaming, cutting speed, type of lubrication used, etc.

Bell mouthed usually means poor alignment or reamer not running true.
