Hi All,

Has anyone any experience in the design of this product? I am particulalry interested in the techniques used for joining for pressure applications yet maintain the integrity of the corrosion resistance afforded by the PE.

my experience (with similar product by a different manufacturer) was gravity flow, it was not designed for any pressure

From the photographs it looks like Weholite pipe. In which case the spiral winding is to resist backfill and imposed loading whilst using the material efficienly and not for water pressure.

The pictured pipe looks like an ASTM F2453 type probably joined in a similar manner to DuroMaxx

Large diameter, 'pressure' joints are going to be difficult.  If you are looking at a smaller diameter, reinforced thermoplastic pipe (RTP) with a specialist jointing system may be a possibility.

I have had further information showing electrofusion couplings being used. Also I have photos of stub end flanges being attached in this manner. Again no hint from the manufacturer that the pipe is for anything but gravity service.

Hello,

For this type of pipes I think its for gravity applications.

There is another pipe technology as worldwide unique PATENTED pipe as anti bacterial 3 layers pipes AB-3P , high impact resistant pipe, patented polymer compound and super high pressure twin conical screw extrusion process makes it an extra strong pipe. this plastic pipes compete steel and ductile iron on impact test, compression test, this plastic pipes can work with  pressure 20 bars for water. Hygienic pipes for drinking water.

The below YOUTUBE for extreme test for it:
