Removal of dissolved NaCl from 10-16% PtN solution?
Removal of dissolved NaCl from 10-16% PtN solution?
(OP)
I am presently trieng to figure out the removal of NaCl from PtN solution. No hydrocarbons as carriers if
you're planning liquid-liquid extraction, PtN is a good oxidising agent and u'll be cooking up an explosion.
I wanted to take advantage of the eutectic mixture, by adding more NaCl, drop the temp for NaCl to re-crystalise and then filter. But my bosses will rule against it as if it fails, we got a lot of platinum that has been messed up.
Any other separation technique to consider? Please help. I need to get rid of NaCl without compromising PtN solution.

It sounds like something similar.
Additional research on the adams catalyst might lead you to your solution.
FYI PtN is really Pt(NO3)4
